Our Story

(TJC) was founded in 2005 by Chris Carter, Joe Meadow, and Tanner Allen. After a brief stint working for other firms, we put our collective minds together to create a faster, more efficient, and more profitable way to originate and close residential mortgage transactions. These modifications have allowed us to prosper and absorb other firm’s workloads while maintaining our own. The last few years have provided for increasing revenues for TJC while the industry as a whole has had to rebound. This growth can mainly be contributed to the support and training provided by TJC. TJC has an open mind to all candidates looking for the opportunity to provide a healthy and rewarding financial future for themselves and their family. Tanner Allen
Owner/Partner
Tanner is originally from New Albany, MS. He moved to Birmingham and attended UAB on a football scholarship where he graduated with a degree in Business/Finance. Tanner has been in the mortgage industry since 2004. He is the go-to person for TJC Mortgage, Inc. loan officers when the are looking for solutions. He REMEMBERS THE DETAILS and strives to make sure TJC Mortgage, Inc. treats every client as a top priority. Currently, Tanner serves as the Director of the Alabama Mortgage Professionals Association or AMPA.
Tanner is married to Caroline Allen. They live in Vestavia and are active members of Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
Joe Bear Meadow
Owner/Partner
Joe was born in Enterprise, Alabama and moved to Hoover is 1982 where he graduated from Hoover HS in 1996 and went on to play football at UAB. Joe was a US Army Paratrooper from 2002-2005 and was deployed to Kirkul, Iraq with the 173rd Airborne Brigade that provided security to highly valued personnel including Senator Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfield.
Joe is married to Kayla Sellers Meadow and they have two children. Joe and his family attend Church of the Highlands, he is an avid supporter of UAB and was just recently awarded their Top 25 in Business for 2014.
Christopher Carter
Owner/Partner
Chris has two children, Caroline and Cannon. He is originally from Memphis, TN where he attended Collierville HS. Chris graduated from the University of Alabama in 2003 and moved to Birmingham and to work with Wells Fargo. In just two short years, he and his partners made the decision to form TJC Mortgage, Inc.
Chris attends Ashbury Methodist Church and is extremely active in the community where he lives and where his children participate in sports. He enjoys traveling and University of Alabama football!
